Wageningen Eng Day
Wageningen has a beautiful Eng on the outskirts of the city. The Wageningse Eng Foundation organises the Wageningse Eng Day in collaboration with volunteers, users and residents. The festival is celebrated in the meadow near the junction of Dolderstraat and Honingblokpad, by the little white farmhouse at Dolderstraat 51.
There’s plenty to do. At the local market, associations, organisations and user groups will be showcasing their activities on and around the Wageningen Eng. You can try your hand at allotment gardening on the Eng, find out more about the plans for the Droevendaalse Wig and chat to local livestock farmers. There’s plenty to do for children and active visitors too: traditional Dutch children’s games, basket weaving and threshing grain. You can also admire historic agricultural vehicles. Trio Blue Note will provide the music. Naturally, there’ll be local snacks and drinks on offer. De Korenschoof will be selling Wageningen beer, and there may be pancakes made from Wageningen grain and lupin. There will also be homemade pumpkin soup.
Wageningen Eng Day is an annual harvest festival and a wonderful opportunity to discover the Eng and the people who work there. Entry is free. Come to the festival by bike or on foot! There are no car parking spaces.
